Santa, real or not?

There are approximately two billion children (persons under 18) in
the world. However, since Santa does not visit children of Muslim,
Hindu, Jewish or Buddhist (except maybe in Japan) religions, this
reduces the workload for Christmas night to 15% of the total, or 378
million (according to the population reference bureau). Assuming an
average (census) rate of 3.5 children per household, that computes to 108 million homes - presuming there is at least one good child in
each.

Santa has about 31 hours of Christmas to work with, thanks to the
different time zones and the rotation of the earth, assuming east to
west (which seems logical). This works out to 967.7 visits per
second. This is to say that for each Christian household with a good
child, Santa has around 1/1000th of a second to park the sleigh, hop
out, jump down the chimney, fill the stocking, distribute the
remaining presents under the tree, eat whatever snacks have been left
for him, get back up the chimney, jump into the sleigh, and get onto
the next house. Assuming that each of these 108 million stops is
evenly distributed around the earth (which, of course, we know to be
false, but will accept for the purposes of our calculations), we are
now talking about 0.78 miles per household. This amounts to a total
trip of 75.5 million miles, not counting bathroom stops or breaks.

This means Santa's sleigh is moving at 650 miles per second--3,000
times the speed of sound. For purposes of comparison, the fastest
man made vehicle, the Ulysses space probe, moves at a pokey 27.4miles
per second, and a conventional reindeer can run (at best) 15 miles
per hour. The payload of the sleigh adds another interesting element.

Assuming that each child gets nothing more than a medium sized LEGO
set (two pounds), the sleigh is carrying over 500 thousands tons,
not counting Santa himself. On land, a conventional reindeer can
pull no more than 300 pounds. Even granting that the "flying"
reindeer can pull 10 times the normal amount, the job can't be done
with eight or even nine of them---Santa would need 360,000 of them.
This increases the payload, not counting the weight of the sleigh,
another 54,000 tons, or roughly seven times the weight of the Queen
Elizabeth (the ship, not the monarch). 600,000 tons travelling at 650
miles per second creates enormous air resistance - this would heat up
the reindeer in the same fashion as a spacecraft re-entering the
earth's atmosphere.

The lead pair of reindeer would absorb 14.3 quintillion joules of
energy per second each. In short, they would burst into flames
almost instantaneously, exposing the reindeer behind them and
creating deafening sonic booms in their wake. The entire reindeer
team would be vaporized within 4.26 thousandths of a second, or right
about the time Santa reached the fifth house on his trip. Not that it
matters, however, since Santa, as a result of accelerating from a
dead stop to 650 m.p.s. in .001 seconds, would be subjected to
acceleration forces of 17,000 g's. A 250 pound Santa (which seems
ludicrously slim) would be pinned to the back of the sleigh by
4,315,015 pounds of force, instantly crushing his bones and organs
and reducing him to a dribbling mess of twitching innards.

Therefore, if Santa ever did exist, he's dead now.

This week... and our report.

Ian thinks that this week has passed rather quikly... We found out that crucial infromation from a letter we stumbled upon when cleaning his room. It concealed this message : "It seems like only one day has passed, but as it turns out 4 days have past since the end of the last week. I still can't belive that it has happened. I think I am going senile."

The disappearance on 27th of November.

It seems that our test subject had some health problems at 27th of November , 2009 4AM in the morning. Luckly he has recovered from that dreadful health disorder and is now back on track.

4.AM!

Since this domain is very very presistant on demanding a certain ammount of domain postsm I'm going to add another one.
I sprouted a page called www.ted.com before and now I'm going to give you a clip from that page. In this clip we can see a very peculiar person who talks about the freak occurnces at 4.AM.

http://www.ted.com/talks/rives_controls_the_internet.html

ME , ME and ME!

Dadaa! I'm going to talk about the most important thing in the universe, ME! (I'll address myself as Ian now).
Ian is a 16 year old all most adult male person. He is average height with not so (Not at all) muscular build. Covering the head is a long mousy medium lenght a little back-combed long string of hair (Underline the world string). On the sides there are a couple of elephant ears (No, I didn't steal them from the zoo). The class balls in the eye sockets are green - gray - light blue colorish. A normal nose is situated in the middle of the face and below the nose is an average sized mouth (Constantly used for eating and speaking).
From the moment Ian was born we have been able to gather very minuscule amount of information about his (We still have no clue who or what it is, but we prefer to call it a he) characteristics. As far as we know he seemes to be a bit reserved at times, but he has a gentle heart.

SIDENOTE : He seemes to be drawing nonsense pictures all over his notebooks, is this the breaktrough we have been looking for?

Ekke's place...

This day I spent most of my "free time" at Ekkes "domain". I went there shorty after school and then spent there 5 or so hours. But that trip wasn't all bad, we studied British history all that time for the upcoming test we are going to have tomarrow. So overall it was time well spent :)

Todays English class.

Todays English class was informative, not so interesting and on some level scary. It was informative because we learned new things that will prove to be quite useful in the future. It is not interesting for the obvious reasons (I think that I don't have to name them, because people with education can usually think). It was scary for only one reason, a test. This test was given to us in the starting minutes of the class and we were told to complete it. The first thought that went trough my head was that I am going to get a bad mark for this, but as it turned out our (Mighty) teacher didn't want to check them. Instead we checked them ourselves and got to keep them , so we could study from it.

Saving my grade post.

This post is revealed to the public , because I want to save my "journal" grade. So,I am going to advertise a group called "The Voca People".
The Voca People is an ensemble of 8 talented musician-actors; 3 female singers that bring the very best female sounds (alt, mezzo, soprano) and 3 male singers (bass, baritone, tenor. In addition there are 2 beat box artists that create extraordinary human beat box sounds and are considered to be the best performers in their field.
I have heard a specific saying that I think will suit very well, "A picture can say a thousand words", but to make it plauseble for THIS post I had to modify it and I came up with this, "A video can say more than a thousand words".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6EYrqIn0yI
This post will publish my oppinions on the foreign students that we have on our class.
They seem to be quite lonely, they never talk to anyone exept between themselves. The only time they tend to open their mouth is when they want to know something or the teacher asks them to.
Our "head+class+teacher" suggested that we try to open them up and get the lonelyness out of them, but I think that isn't so easy as it might seem to an observer standing by , invisiblly , judging our actions...
But I think we will get them to speak tomarrow if not , then the day after that and so on and forth.

My trip to England

Tonight, on my very own journal , I am going to describe my trip to England. Just sit back and enjoy the ride...

My trip to the very rainy land aka England started on 16th of September , but I arrived at England on the 17th due to our late night flight (The plane left from Finland, that's why I was absent on the 15th of September). When we arrived at the Stanstead airport , we had a lot of time to pass by because the train to our next stop, Manchester, didn't leave until 5 AM (We arrived there 12 PM). So, as countless people there did, we tried to sleep those 4 hours. I have to admit that they didn't have any sleeping courters there , so we had to sleep on the cold, hard ceramic tile floor that was below our feet (You would enjoy tho it if you like those “not so warm” floors).

At Manchester we had only one purpose, to visit the Old Trafford (It is an stadium) and take a tour there (I recommend the tour). After we had valiantly conquered the stadium , my friend (Including his mom) and I took our next train to Newcastle.

We spent two days in Newcastle. During those days we had time to get acquainted to the city, visit a place called The Life Museum and even see an Castle that was situated in North Shields. Our “Bed and Breakfast” was quite close to that specific castle (Which name I can't recall at the moment) in South Shields, that is just in the other side of the river ( I think you can say that South + North Shield is like Nõmme for Newcastle).

On our way to Blackpool which was our next stop, I had the opportunity to get a glimpse of the magnificent terrain that surrounded the British and Scottish border. When I arrived at Blackpool , my first thought was “Where am I?”, but as time passed along I came to a conclusion. Blackpool is a fusion between Las Vegas and Paris with an English touch to it. “A another word for We must be inserted here” didn't spend a lot of time in the English Las Vegas, instead we went to Liverpool where we just walked around and stared at the buildings. Since we had our hotel in Blackpool , we had to go back there in the evening...

Our last 4 days we spent in London and part of the fourth day in the airport waiting our man made plane to home. My first impression of London was quite disturbing, it wasn't even similar what I expected to encounter, but I think that a huge factor for that opinion was our hotel. Our “awesome” hotel was next to a train track. So one could say that we had trouble sleeping ( A travelers tip here too : NEVER book a hotel in London, you may never know where you end up). Despite the troubling facts, I got used to it and enjoyed London after all. We ( I feel so bad that I have to use We everywhere) visited quite a handsome number of museums there, some of them were : The Imperial War Museum, The National History Museum, The Science Museum , (Some kind of a nature museum) and many more. THE END!

I hope you guys and gals who read my little story of the not so big England like it and please post constructive comments. (This counts for 3 weeks of journal updates!....hopefully....)

And I would appricate an applause for my hard work of writing this story.

I am too lazy to post at the moment, but I will write a full review of my trip later (There is a high chance that I will do it this week) so you "people" can read it... (And it also covers all of my journal updates, that I should have done when I was apsent.)

First post. (Weather)

This is my first post to this journal of mine and as needed, I'll post a story of somesort to make the english teacher happy.

The topic that I have choosen to talk about is labeled "Weather". To be more precise, the label would be "Weather of my first school week".
Weather that had a hold over my first school week was bad at first , but then got continually better. I said that it was bad because it rained (Even if it was a little shower.) and besides that, the wind was quite cold.
Since explanations are good, I'll go into the second half of the week more precisely too. The mornings weren't as cold and rainy as they used to be and the wind didn't blow as hard as it used to blow. Overall, the end of the week was good.

A little sidenote too : The best day of the week was Saturday.
